National Contact Point

Responsible Business Conduct with OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises

About Us

About

the Korean NCP

National Contact Points (NCPs) for Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) are national agencies tasked with supporting all actors – companies, governments and stakeholders – in implementing responsible business conduct. NCPs for RBC exist in all countries adhering to the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct (the Guidelines).
NCPs are the Guidelines’  implementation mechanisms

The Korean National Contact Point (KNCP) was established in 2001 in line with the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. We promote and implement the Guidelines, pursue forward-looking initiatives, provide mechanisms for resolving issues related to RBC, and collaborate closely with other NCPs around the world. Our mission is to promote RBC by Korean enterprises abroad and support sustainable, inclusive international investment. Through this commitment, the KNCP seeks to build trust, advance the implementation of the OECD Guidelines, and help shape a more responsible global business environment.

A resilient and inclusive global economy is grounded in shared participation and cooperation.
We hope that multinational enterprises will continue to champion RBC and help cultivate values that contribute to sustainable, long-term progress.

Thank you for your continued support.

Promotion

We are responsible for raising awareness and uptake of the Guidelines and OECD due diligence guidance. We maintain websites and provide translations of OECD standards and tools in national languages, organize events and trainings for business and other stakeholders, and do various promotional activities.

For further details, please refer to the Korea NCP website and official social media channels.

Grievance mechanism

We act as a non-judicial grievance mechanism for alleged breaches of the Guidelines by companies, known as ‘specific instances’. Any person with a legitimate interest in reporting an alleged non-observance of the Guidelines by a company operating in or from an Adherent country may file a case to the appropriate NCP.

Support to policy

We may support our government’s policy efforts to promote RBC. An enabling policy environment is key to RBC. Governments therefore increasingly intervene through policy and regulation, according to the principles laid out in the OECD Recommendation on the role of governments in promoting RBC.
